Django Documentation

Django documentation

This iPhone or iPod Touch application contains the Django documentation. We take it from the Django source, build it, reformat it a little to work better in on a smaller screen and bundle it up. This gives you the Django documentation in offline mode.

For every app sold Clearwind will donate 30c to the Django Software Foundation.

Available in the app store right now.

Last update: June 2010 from SVN trunk when 1.2 was released.

FAQ

Is that all it does?
Yep. Nothing magical here. But it's easier to read than the online one, slightly faster (hopefully) and offline. Please don't get your hopes up, it's just the documentation.
Code snippets are cut off!
Annoying isn't it. However we can't starting inserting new lines into code. Place two fingers on the code snippet itself and then you can drag it to the left or write.
The directory path is cut off!
There are some parts of the text that have long import paths or long directory names, for the moment you'll have to scroll the whole screen until we come up with a more cunning plan.
How can you sell free stuff?
Because we thought it would be a cool way to raise money for the Django Software Foundation. If you don't want to buy this app, go make a donation of time or money anyway.
When will updates come?
At the very least, every new version release.
The license allows this?
As far as we know. The content is still the copyright of the Django Software Foundation and contributors. The content is BSD Licensed, see LICENSE and AUTHORS for details. The Django logo has been modified from the original with the permission of the Django Software Foundation.

Small print: every app sold and not returned. For those counting, the app costs 99c. Apple keeps 29c, Canadian Govt. keeps 5c, Django Software Foundation gets 30c, the remaining 35c goes towards the App store developer license and the cost of the Mac it was built on. And maybe a glass of scotch.
